Accelerated Math

Students at Rogers may accelerate according to their abilities.  A teacher may offer enrichment to broaden the student's understanding, or the teacher may accelerate the student to a higher math level. It is possible for our students to earn two years of high school math credit before graduating from Rogers.

Strings Program

Rogers has a full K-8 music curriculum.  In addition, we are blessed with two string orchestras.  Students can begin violin lessons in kindergarten and continue through junior high orchestra.  Our program dovetails with the Walla Walla Valley Suzuki program, and our students can go on to play in the Academy orchestra and even on into the University or the Walla Walla Symphony.

Before- and After-School Care

Our prices for extended care are the best in town.  You have the comfort of knowing that your child is safe and dry in a healthy, well-supervised program.

Family Groups

Small schools produce more leaders.  In a one- or two-teacher school, children enter as wide-eyed participants and exit as capable organizers and caregivers.  In large schools, shy students can stay shy for nine years while bolder students take center stage year after year.

Our Family Group programs seeks to bring small school leadership advantages to Rogers.  The entire student body is broken into 48 small groups where all ages are represented.  The eighth-grade student leads out while others "shepherd" the very young.  The young know that one day they will lead.

The eighth-grade "Chieftains" plan our weekly 45-minute Family Group assemblies and activities.  They also evaluate their own effectivness and plan for improvements.  Younger ones learn that they have a friend among the "big kids."
