  • Library Club
Library Club is a service club that helps out in the library.  Select students from grades 5 and 6 volunteer to give up one recess a week to help in the library.  They learn to shelve books, dust shelves, and generally make themselves useful all around.  If you want to join Library Club, you can get an application from Mrs. Campbell.
  • Book Swap
During the school year 2009 - 2010 I held two book swaps.  One in December for Junior High students.  That event went well and I then decided to hold a book swap for all students in grades K - 8 in May.  Both were successful and we will continue doing this next school year.  Save books that are in good reading condition that you no longer care to have and bring them to the next book swap.  Watch for more information.
  • Amazon Wish List for the library

The library has a wish list created at Amazon.com.  If you would like to donate a book to our library, here is a place you can find items that students and teachers have requested.  Books of all types and prices are on the list.  Take a look and see!

Thank you so much to those who have purchased books from our Wish List on Amazon.  We have received a number of books so far from donors.

  • Book Fair Dates and Times
Our book fairs are over for the school year 2009 - 2010, but we will have more next school year.  The next Scholastic Book Fair is scheduled to arrive September 23, 2010 and will be held Friday, September 24 through Wednesday, September 29.

  • Library visitors

Every Thursday and Friday we have regular library classes for the students here at Rogers.  Classes include a lesson or story and check-out time.  Since these two days are so busy for us, we ask our other visitors to choose a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday for their visit.  Thank you for your cooperation.

  • Parent Shelf

Many parents do not realize that we have materials they might enjoy as well.  We have a shelf of materials that parents might like to check out.  We have a set of videos titled "Where There's a Will, There's an A" which helps students and parents learn how to better organize themselves to be more productive in their schoolwork.  Little by little we are adding to the video/DVD library for parent and student check-out.  We also have information about MySpace and how to keep your children safe on it.  Come check it out.

  • How Can I Help the Library?
    • Volunteer in the Library

If you are interested in becoming a library volunteer, please let Mrs. Palmer or Mrs. Campbell know.  We have a variety of needs from dusting to shelving to helping supervise students.

    • Donate a Book

Another way you can help the library is to donate a book.  Visit our Wish List at Amazon.com to see some titles that students and teachers have requested.

    • Purchase needed equipment or donate toward equipment

  • Library Program

Welcome to the Media Center here at Rogers.  This place is busy most of the time.  Teachers bring their classes to the computer lab and students come in to get materials for reports, do some research, or just to find something fun to read.  Mrs. Campbell's favorite job is helping a student find just the right book. Mrs. Palmer's favorite activity is to assist students with a research project.

Parents, please feel free to come in and browse our books and magazines.  The Library has been designed as a fun, quiet, relaxing place for your kids and you.  Remember a special book from your childhood?  We've saved a few of those along with the hundreds of new choices.  Sign up for a free library card if you don't have one already.  We have something for everyone.
