In the same way, you should be a light for other people.  Live so that they will see the good things you do.  Live so that they will praise your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:16

Welcome back to school!

I am excited to start this school year with a new group of amazing students. Our class theme this year is SHINE. We will be focusing on how we can shine God's love to the people around us and use the talents He gave us to shine brightly.  Once again we will be adventuring out in nature, creating and exploring the wonderful world God created.

It is my goal to make our classroom a safe place to ask questions, try new things, and be the unique person God is fashioning each student into. To help facilitate that goal I will be planning lessons in a variety of learning styles, getting the students' bodies moving and outside as often as possible and providing alternative seating options to optimize our learning time. I am implementing Kindness Hour on Fridays. During this hour, we will spend time as a class watching short movie clips, acting out scenarios, reading books, discussing feelings and participating in acts of kindness. My goal is to help the students learn to be kind, empathetic, thinking individuals.

About Me
I love teaching but in my spare time I enjoy reading, snow skiing, playing basketball, participating in any activity involving water and going on adventures with my family. My husband Jon and I have two boys, Korbin, 10 and Keegan, 7. I love living in the Walla Walla Valley surrounded by friends, lots of family and the Blue Mountains.
